The Arkansas Earth Institute is an affiliate of the Northwest Earth Institute which is recognized as a national leader in developing innovative programs that empower individuals and organizations to protect the earth. These programs emphasize individual responsibility, the importance of a supportive community, and the dual need to walk lightly on and to take action for the earth.

Sustainable Systems at Work Discussion Course
Wednesdays, February 3rd - March 3rd from 6 - 8 pm.

This five-session discussion course is designed to further organizational sustainability initiatives in the workplace. Participants in this discussion course will a) Evaluate the current economic model and consider the case for change, b) Examine the concept of sustainability from an organizational perspective, c) Evaluate principles and frameworks for guiding a vision, d) Identify tools and strategies for implementing a framework and e) Develop an action plan to advance organizational change.

Cost: $35 covers the cost of the study guide.
Location: Village Commons, 1423 Main Street

Voluntary Simplicity Discussion Course

Location: Heifer Village, downtown Little Rock
Cost: $40 tuition fee includes moderated discussion and study materials. Register by Tuesday, Feb 16, to receive a $10 discount.

Arkansas Earth Institute Annual Retreat - Friday, Jan 29 - Saturday, Jan 30, 2010
Relaxed and get energized for the New Year. Elizabeth Weber, artist-in-residence at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, will lead us in an art project on Friday evening. Saturday we’ll focus on learning from 2009 and making new, fresh ideas for 2010. Program begins Friday evening at 6 pm and concludes Saturday afternoon at 4 pm.
Fee: $60 for double occupancy; $90 for single occupancy. Price includes lodging, 3 meals (Friday night through Saturday afternoon), program and tour of Heifer Ranch.
